Keeping Your Skin Problem Free

Keep Your Skin Clear!

Everybody can agree that having good skin is a big goal in life. A lot of us (unfairly so) associate having bad skin with having bad hygiene habits even though bad skin is generally not a sign of whether someone maintains good hygiene. At some point it’s almost certain that you’ll have to at least deal with acne at some point.

Lots of things cause acne to happen which is why pretty much everyone suffers from it at some point. Adult acne is not always as severe as teenage acne but it can be more embarrassing so learning how to properly care for your skin is just one of things you have to do as a grown up. You can help keep acne at bay by following the tips given in this article.

Keep Your Bed Clean!

You need to keep your sheets, blankets, and especially your pillowcases as clean as possible. Some people sleep on the same un-washed bedding for months at a time, that’s very bad for your skin. If you suffer from acne problems, you cannot be one of these people. It is especially important that you keep your pillowcases as clean as possible. Just throw it in the wash a few times a week maybe, get a schedule going so you don’t forget about it any pay the consequences at any point in time. This will help you make sure that excess dirt and debris will have a harder time finding their way into your face while you sleep. Make sure you always wear clean clothes and pajamas. Something as seemingly benign as wearing last night’s pajamas could be just enough to clog some of the pores in your face and cause new pimples to form by morning. Again, it all depends on you and your skin in the end, you know what you can handle.

Don’t Touch Your Face

Try not to touch your face. How often are you aware of the time your hands spend touching your face? Acne issues can partly be blamed on how much time people let their hands rest on their faces. Take a minute to think about this. If you touch something and then touch your face, in essence, you are touching your face with that very something. If you make a habit of resting your face on your hands then the oil that is on your hands is going straight into the pores on your face constantly. This is partly what makes it so easy for you to catch the flu: you pick up something that has been touched by someone who is sick and then later brush something off of your face and transfer the germs right onto your face where they have easy access to your nose, eyes, mouth, ears and pores: all places to infect with the flu! This is just one reason why you need to avoid touching your face with your hands whenever possible!

If you are unable to keep your hands away from your face make sure to wash your hands often! Washing your hands often can help combat acne to a great extent.

You SHOULD wash your face at least two times every day. Things can work their way into our pores even while we are sleeping. It is not hard to put together a skin cleansing ritual for the morning and another for the evening. The routine in the morning does not have to be as extensive as your evening routine (when you are washing away the wear of the day) but you should do at least some gentle cleansing in the mornings. You’ll send that acne packing! One of the best ways to treat acne breakouts is to simply stick to the basics: wash your face and keep your hands to yourself. Once in a while the basic cleanser is not enough and you need to use a product that is a little bit harsher. The good news is that, whether you are in your teens, twenties or sixties–there are plenty of ways to help you keep the acne at bay!
