Transparent Rivers II

After completing the first Transparent Rivers quilt, I used the same technique to create a background of hand-dyed fabrics. I arranged the triangular pieces in the form of the Olympic Mountains I used to see out my window. The "rivers" of metallic and rayon threads meander through the mountains reflecting the sunlight off the water.

This piece is machine pieced of hand-dyed 100% cottons, machine embroidered with metallic and rayon threads and machine quilted with rayon variegated thread.
