Spinning Out of Control

This quilt started with a beautiful piece that I had dyed. I didn't want to cut it up and I had been experimenting with some pieces in which I appliqued geometric pieces on top of the hand-dyed. The background fabric seemed to have a swirling or circular motion, which I emphasized with the circles and the triangle groupings. This quilt took a long time to evolve as it was on my wall for many months while I tried to figure out what to do next. The quilting is done in circles to complement the circular designs.
