Sherbet Skyline

The basis for this piece was designed in a class with Jan Meyers-Newbury, who is one of the experts in hand-dyed fabrics and design. I completed the design later, dyed a series of four colors in six different shades each just to match the design. Some changes were made during the construction, of course. My intention was to always place a light set of colors to the right of a slightly darker set of the same colors. Upon completion of the piece, the image reminded me of tall buildings on the skyline, the colors being of lime, raspberry and cherry sherbet.

This piece is machine pieced of 100% cottons. It is machine quilted in the ditch with matching thread.
