Confetti is Good for the Soul
Size 49" x 40"
This piece was started as a set of irregular log cabin blocks. I chose many bright colors to interact with the high contrast black and white prints. The piece took many tries to complete the top because of the irregular shapes and strange coping pieces that needed insertion. I gave up several times, but finally returned to it and completed it. When I went to quilt the piece I decided to use more bright colors in the rayon variegated thread and to use many different machine stitches and techniques. It became a very modern form of the crazy quilt.
This piece is machine pieced of cottons, cotton-polyester blends, and some hand-dyed cottons. It is machine quilted with rayon variegated thread.
