This piece was designed on paper as in exercise in color interaction. Even though the quilt appears to have a complicated design, the individual parts are rather simplistic. Piecing the quilt was quite difficult, because there are four different colors each shaded in six gradations. The sections where the lightest values come together seem to create an intense glow. This piece is machine pieced of 100% cottons all hand-dyed by myself. It is machine quilted with rayon variegated thread.
