Classes

Classes are offered in my studio on Bainbridge Island or at your facility. All classes for 2003 will be arranged on an as needed basis. The list below is a summary of the classes that I have taught in the past, but various combinations of techniques can be arranged to fit your needs. Minimum class size is 5 people.

This class covers the basic information for learning how to dye cotton fabrics. We will do two color runs: a light to dark gradation in one color, and a cross-over gradation from one color to another. Class includes all the dyes, chemicals and 6 yards of fabric. Class fee: $60.00

Fabric Stamping

This class will cover the basics of stamping on cloth. You will make your own stamps using several different materials. Class includes 1 yard of pre-treated fabric, dyes, paints, and various stamping materials. Class fee: $55.00

Discharge

Discharging is basically bleaching of fabric and removing color. We will use several methods and chemicals to discharge. Potatio Dextrin discharging will also be covered in this class! Class includes 3 yards of dark fabric, discharge chemicals, dyes and paints. Class fee: $60.00

Silkscreen

Learn to make a silkscreen with the design of your choice. Then screen your design onto fabric of your choice. One easy method will be used to create your own screen, but other methods will be discussed. Class includes a silkscreen for you to add to your repertoire of tools! Class fee: $65.00

Multi-colored Dyeing

This class is hard to name. We set up in the driveway and use lots of plastic. The process is messy and lots of fun! You will get incredible one-of-a-kind fabrics in lengths only limited by your space. Class includes 3 yards of fabric, but you will want to get more because it is just too much fun and very addictive! Class fee: $55.00

Foiling

The foiling technique is a great accent to complete a beautiful piece of fabric. You can stamp, stencil, silkscreen, or simply paint the glue. Then apply the bright shiny foil to finish it off! Class fee: $50
